From hot topic pot boilers like powerful human rights thriller, EXTRAORDINARY RENDITION, starring Andy Serkis, to multi-award winning immigration drama, LEAVE TO REMAIN, starring Toby Jones, as well as commercially driven TV productions, such as the darkly sexy, noirish mini-series, SILENT HOURS, starring Hugh Bonneville and Indira Varma, Piers has been active in acquisitions and development across both film and television for 15 years.  

Having headed Acquisitions at High Point, Piers procured a number of commercially successful titles in film and television, including BBC1’s SHAKESPEARE RETOLD, with James McAvoy, Damien Lewis, Imelda Staunton and Rufus Sewell, and acclaimed documentaries, such as Cannes Film Festival selected CAMERAMAN: THE LIFE AND WORK OF JACK CARDIFF. Piers was also responsible for the acquisition of many genre feature films, including the pioneering techno-thriller, APP.

Piers oversees all festival activity has close ties with key programmers across all A-list and industry respected events.

With experience gathered over the years, Piers is regularly called upon for his expertise by some of the world's leading Film Schools, Universities and Festivals, including the UK's NFTS (National School of Film and TV) and London Film School, EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV  Cuba), the Media Business School in and Met Film School. He has also been a Creative Advisor for ScripTeast in Poland and participates in such global events as MIA in Rome, The Edinburgh Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival.
